Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Peony ("the App") is a personal period and cycle tracking application developed by Akarsh Singh, SD Solutions NC ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information. By using Peony, you agree to this policy.

The short version: your health data never leaves your device or your personal iCloud account. We have no servers, no accounts, and no ability to see your data.

2. Information You Enter

Peony allows you to log menstrual cycle dates, symptoms, moods, and other personal health information you choose to enter. This information is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework, and optionally synced to your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit if iCloud is enabled on your device. Your data is never transmitted to, accessed by, or stored on any servers operated by us.

All data belongs to you. We have no ability to access, view, or recover your data.

3. What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, or any account credentials. We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs (IDFA), usage analytics, crash reports, behavioral telemetry, or location data. Peony contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking libraries of any kind. No data is ever sold to third parties.

4. iCloud Sync

If iCloud Drive is enabled on your device, your data may sync across your Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit. This sync is private — it flows through your personal iCloud account and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data. If you do not use iCloud, or disable iCloud for Peony in your device settings, all data remains local to your device only.

5. Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you choose to connect Peony to Apple Health, any data shared with Apple Health is governed by your Apple Health app privacy settings and Apple's Privacy Policy. We only read from or write to Apple Health based on your explicit permissions granted within the App. We do not store HealthKit data on any external server and do not share it with any third party.

6. Medical Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

Peony is not a medical device and is not intended to provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

The information, predictions, cycle estimates, and any other content provided by the App are for general informational and personal tracking purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a qualified healthcare provider.

Cycle predictions and fertile window estimates are algorithmic approximations based on the data you enter. They are not guarantees of accuracy and should not be relied upon as a method of contraception or for any medical decision-making. Cycle lengths and patterns vary significantly between individuals and can change due to stress, illness, medication, hormonal changes, and other factors.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Akarsh Singh and SD Solutions NC shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, including but not limited to reliance on any cycle predictions, fertile window estimates, or health information provided by the App. Your use of Peony is at your own discretion and risk.

7. Data Deletion

All data stored by Peony can be deleted at any time. To delete all data on your device, go to Settings within the App and select "Delete All Data," or delete the App from your device. To remove iCloud-synced data, deleting the App from all your devices will remove all locally stored data. You may also manage iCloud data via Settings › [Your Name] › iCloud on your device. We do not retain copies of your data and cannot delete it on your behalf.

8. Children's Privacy

Peony is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used this App, please contact us and we will address the situation promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
